To make email advertising to work for you, having a good copy write is absolutely important. But what makes things even trickier is the fact that most of the email readers you will be targeting will usually be pressed for time. This presents two major challenges. Firstly, getting the email recipients to open your email and secondly, once they’ve opened your promotional email, getting them to read it completely through.
Copy writing requires a very deep understanding of human nature and what motivates humans. It is useful to always bear in mind that people are basically selfish and out to satisfy their own selfish needs and desires to grow richer, become more popular and so on. People are much more eager to solve the problems that they are currently facing, rather than to protect themselves and prevent problems of the future. Which tells us on how we need to approach the website promotional methods that will work to direct traffic to a website.
Email advertising headlines will usually appear in the subject area of the email and will be the first thing that the email recipient reads. If the headline does not appeal to them, it does not matter if they have opted-in to receive the mail or not, they will delete the message without reading it. Yet many email recipients of spam will actually open and read a message that has a powerful headline, despite the fact that it is unsolicited mail. That is the power of a good headline. In order for this form of internet marketing to work for you it is important to find a trust worthy company that has years of experience with email marketing and that will give you results you need. David Ogilvy, the father of modern advertising, created one of the most iconic automobile ads ever when he released this ad. It surpassed other famous advertising slogans. It did not have loud graphics or brilliant colors, but it will always be counted amongst the greatest advertising ideas of the period. Modern advertising methods can retrace their history to these ads that changed the way the world looked at advertising. While not all of us are blessed with Ogilvy’s mind or creative thought process, there are a few tactics available to us, to ensure that our ad does not become a run of the mill ad.
Metaphorical Ads: Best advertising ideas can always combine two very different imageries to put our point across. Compare your product to things that no one would dream of doing. Spontex, a well-known sponge manufacturer, used this tactic to their benefit, when they released an ad, with the image of an African woman, carrying their super absorbent sponge, instead of a bucket to carry water.
Get Real: While the rest of the world spends their money on big celebrities and super models, you could stand apart by having real people as your models. People will relate to the ad as your models will be speaking to them and not at them. Creative advertising techniques do not always demand star power.
Shock Treatment: The consumer always craves for something new. If every automobile ad is going to feature vehicles on difficult terrain, sooner or later they are going to tune off. PETA specializes in shocking their viewers. Their live installation ad against packaged meat, where they had activists posing nude in huge plastic containers with labels of human meat stuck to them, drew a huge response. Since you can practically buy ad space on just about every surface possible, finding the right location for your promotional message can be quite a challenge. Choosing an otherwise untouched area for your ad can increase its success. Dimly lit areas, floors and narrow walkways seem to be free of advertising and promotional materials in most buildings.
Dimly Lit Areas
Dimly lit areas may seem to be off limits when it comes to promotion and advertising since well-lit areas provide a more inviting location for posters and signs. However, backlit displays provide a perfect way to take advantage of these hidden areas.
An illuminated backlit sign can spark interest and grab the attention of customers in casinos, movie theaters and shopping malls. Whether you are promoting an upcoming event or a new product or service offering a backlit display can expand your marketing reach throughout the building.

A lighting display consisting of glass tubes filled with gas, through which electric current is passed which makes these tubes emit light. These tubes can be bent into any shape as required to form characters or a design, which we can see glowing as the name and brand symbols of many companies.
How to Make Neon Signs
One way of making neon sign is by making use of an extremely helpful computer tool, Photoshop. It is perhaps, the most versatile tool in popular use all round the globe. A graphical work can be easily designed using Adobe Photoshop. The following steps will clarify the use of this software in making your own neon signs.
Open a new Photoshop window or a document. A new window will pop up inside, which prompts you for the details of the project. Enter the size requirements, like the dimensions, the screen resolution and the fitting.
Select a desired color background from the ‘fill’ option in the ‘Tools’ bar. Similarly, go to the ‘Text tool’ and select a color for the text that you will enter. Make sure that the foreground and the text create a contrast, so that the sign is easily readable. The text can be entered in a desired font style with all the curves and vivid flowing styles to make it more attractive.
There are blending options in ‘layer styles’ tools at the bottom of the screen.
The next step involves adding the glitzy effects. The Outer Glow option in the same ‘layer styles’ option provides the color setting using an ‘eyedropper’. The width, size and texturing is done by this tool. Read the rest of this entry »
