How much do advertising usually pay per click while advertising online? I know that depends on the industry and on the product that one is advertising but if one were to advertise an online business, how much is she/he expected to pay per click if chooses the pay-per-click option?

Best reply by Jesse W:

if you are looking to advertise on your web page and make money when people click on their link, you could make anywhere between .25cents and $10. Just depends on what products you advertise.

What should the advertising company conclude at the 5% level of significance?

An advertising company wants to determine if the cartoons series Voltes V, appeals to male viewers more than to female viewers. Based on random telephone interviews,it was found that 23 out of 48 males and 41 out of 90 females watch the series regularly. What should the advertising company conclude at the 5% level of significance?

Best reply by MrD:

For this problem we will use the Chi-squared distribution.

We would expent the percentages to be equal ie 0.4637 each, thus we would expect 22.26 males and 41.74 females to watch the program, we use this to calculate the Test statistic D^2

D^2 = SUM((Expected – observed)^2 / Expected)
= (22.26 – 23)^2/22.26 + (41.74 – 41)^2/41.74
=0.0246 + 0.0131
=0.0377

The Chi-Squared value for 1 degree of freedom at the 5% significance level is 3.841, thus 0.0377 is not larger than 3.841, thus we can conclude that gender has no effect on the viewership.

How does an advertising agency get paid?

Buy and Sell text links

I worked at a radio station selling advertising. When I would ask my supervisor and boss how a marketing / advertising agency works, the answer I would get is…it’s not worth your time or hard work. I have since quit my job due to, well, my boss was a tyrant, but that’s irrelevant. I have run into a couple of my old clients that have asked me to handle their advertising, but I have no idea how to charge them or how I get paid by the advertising avenues. Can someone please tell me, how does an advertising agency get paid? Please be specific…thank you!

They charge a fee for creative work, and make a 15% commission on media. This means if they place media buys, such as television or radio air time, or print media space, such as newspapers, magazines, or billboards, they add the standard 15% commission on the costs of the media.
If they produce print work, they add a commission on to that as well.
Or they may charge a flat monthly rate for creative work and sign a long term contract with a client guaranteeing X amount of work for X amount of money. (A one to three year contract is normal.)
There may be fees for additional work requested by the client such as producing original market research–polling potential clients with taste tests of a product for instance.
(And you may be able to tie in bonuses for proof of pre-determined levels of effectiveness. Say the client is opening a new store location, and you get 500 people to show up and get a spot on the local evening news.)
Go to the business section of your local library. The librarian will be able to help you find shelves of books that explain this all in detail.

Airline companies are so powerful in advertising. Why is that?

I need general objectives of such advertising for my advertising class. Can I also have any reference from websites etc.?

Thank you very much!!!

Best reply by dragonfly_3:

what do you mean, what are the objectives? What are the objectives of any advertising? To sell stuff. In this case, to sell airline tickets and have you choose one airline over another.

What types of advertising campaigns are most effective on you personally?

Buy and Sell text links

We are all influenced by the media and advertising. What types of advertising campaigns are most effective on you personally? Cite specific examples. What rhetorical devices do they use, and why do you think they are so effective?

Best reply by angelica:

It would depend on what you want to achieve with the target audience after all what you want is to sell the product or idea right ? So, you have to start by finding out what is it that you as a consumer would like to hear as it would be the same to another consumer.
Use the AIDA (Attention-Interest-Desire-Action) formula so you can get started..
Good Luck
