Promoting Your MLM Opportunity

If you have decided to join an MLM opportunity, you are probably looking for ways to generate MLM leads and find prospects who are genuinely interested in your business. Many marketers stick with traditional methods, such as cold calling and pitching to friends and neighbors; however, the internet has opened up a wide range of marketing possibilities that have proven to be far more effective.

One of the best ways to attract qualified, interested prospects is through blogging. This marketing method gives you the opportunity to convey the benefits of your business, so prospects will become excited about your MLM opportunity before they ever call or email you – making the process of turning prospects into recruits much more pleasant.

Blogging involves writing short posts that tell readers about your business. You can typically write a post in less than 30 minutes, but each post can keep generating MLM leads for years to come.

You can easily start a blog through a free service such as Blogger or WordPress and have your blog online in a matter of minutes. If you want a more professional looking blog, you might consider a platform such as WordPress.org – you will have to pay a nominal fee for hosting the blog, but this gives you much more room to customize its look and feel so you can send just the right message to your prospects.

You will want to vary the content of your posts to keep readers coming back for more. For example, one post might outline a few of the benefits of your MLM opportunity, while the next post might offer a spotlight on a marketer who has successfully achieved financial independence through your business.

The most important way to ensure that your blog attracts qualified MLM leads is to post consistently. If you have the time, write a post every day – that way readers will know that you will always have fresh content waiting for them… and they will keep coming back to your blog. New Business in a Recession

For the past five years this one man show has kept busy working for the same group of customers who, after using him once, would never consider using anyone else. Their glowing referrals to friends and family brought in new business and since day one he’s always had a backlog of work orders, until now.

Halfway through 2010 the recession caught up to Joe and his backlog of projects dried up. He’s never advertised, doesn’t even have his name on his truck, and at this point he doesn’t have a wad of cash to throw at traditional advertising in an attempt to find a few new jobs. I’d love to have him remodel one of our bathrooms and asked him for a quote. That’s when we got to talk business.

I recommended a package of managed marketing services for small, independent business. We usually work with businesses a bit larger than his, but there is no reason why a good marketing plan can’t deliver strong returns for a one person enterprise. The process is the same no matter what size company I’m working with. We have to get a prospect to find you, get to know you, have reason to trust you, so they will buy from you. You have to do an outstanding job of customer service so they will buy from you again and provide positive referrals.

He agrees to start off with an introductory package, less than one hundred dollars a month, and is guaranteed he will earn his investment back within the first three months and told to expect a return of at least five hundred percent as the program matures. We both begin our assignments. He’s instructed to purchase two books: Duct Tape Marketing and The Referral Engine so he will understand our marketing process and goals. He needs to write down basic information about his company, provide me with all his before and after photographs and the details behind them. He gathers up the many testimonials he’s earned and together we find him a good domain name.

I begin working online directories and referral sources as my designer works on his website. Within the first week his phone begins to ring and he picks up a job as a direct result of our efforts. Two weeks later his website is up and running and within the first month he has several new job offers to pick from.

Marketing for us is a process where we work on many different projects, all designed to work together to bring our client new leads. With our low budget approach we don’t expect to hit home runs. We look for solid singles, an occasional bunt and we’ll take a walk when we can get it. There are many ways where our clients work as a team, supporting each other as each works to build their own businesses. Our focus is on organic, (not paid) local search and we are getting solid results. Read the rest of this entry »

Make the Most Out of Your Marketing Efforts

A website must stand out. One way to make sure of this is to use one of the small business marketing ideas. A prominent idea that will bring customers is to offer free or heavily discounted services or products. Some things to consider when building a website with small business marketing ideas in mind are creating an E-zine and including SEO (Search Engine Optimization) content.

An Ezine, like EzineArticles for example, is a place to write articles on the products or services being offered. It can be very helpful in taking advantage of many of the other small business marketing ideas. A business would benefit by expanding its coverage to trends in the target market. As a business owner you should be commenting on blog posts. When writing articles or blog posts choose keywords that will bring up a site in search engines. A common rule of thumb is to have keywords placed at two to three percent density. That means if a post has 250 words, a keyword and possibly a variant should show up between five times and seven times.

Another very important aspect of small business marketing ideas is to comment on blog posts and in chat rooms related to its offerings. This can also work well for setting up affiliates, which could be a very valuable method in small business marketing ideas. Affiliate marketing follows the old adage of “You rub my back and I will rub yours”. Businesses that have similar offerings or focus on the same market might advertise the other one and each gets a residual payment each time someone clicks on the ad or buys something from the other business.

A new trend in small business marketing ideas involves online advertising. The advertising should be based on a users local area and demographic information. Business owners may balk expenses associated with such a campaign. However, the way online advertising works is currently in a state of change. Rather than the old method of Pay-Per-Click advertising (PPC), the latest fad is using Cost-Per-Action (CPA) advertising. The difference is that a publisher does not need to be paid unless a purchase is made. With pay-per-click, a publisher had to be paid even if someone did not sign up for a site or service or purchase a product. But please be aware that even the best small business marketing ideas are useless until someone puts them into action!

Child Care Center Business Plan

Identifying a Hungry Market

The first step in putting a child care center marketing plan together is to identify your market. This may seem obvious at first but there are many niches or sectors in this industry. These range from infant care, regular child care for preschoolers, after school care, weekend and evening care. The niches vary by the age of the children, location, what time the children are there and also increasingly by the quality and style of care, facilities and educational program.

The most successful operators identify a niche that is not being catered to sufficiently in their local area and they move into and dominate the market. Doing extensive market research for your childcare business and working on differentiating yourself from competitors are the keys here.

Packaging and Pricing Child Care Services

Once you have defined your niche you can then look at clearly defining the services that you offer to meet niche demands and you can look at ways of packaging your services in a way that appears to enhance their value. While still being flexible in what you offer you can put together attractive packages with catchy names such as ‘Saturday Koala Club’ for example. List what is included with each package and offer discounts for customers signing up for a full package (clients who prepay for every Saturday for three months in advance get 10% discount for example).

It is also important to do research into child care pricing so that you can come up with rates that make your business marketable.

Branding

By now you should have a fair idea about the child care brand that you will be establishing. Give some thought to thinking about how you want the public to perceive your business and note down a company philosophy and the values that you want to project to the community. Then you can meet with a graphic designer and start discussing how to visually represent the brand that you want to create with a logo design.

Child care Center Advertising and Promotion

The next step is to get word out about your new child care center and the services and packages that you offer. Advertising is an important part of any marketing plan and you should look at the many options available and start running some campaigns several months before opening for business.

Networking and Cross Promotions

Advertising is not the only way to go about attracting clients. You should look at ways of cross promoting your services with other local business and network in your local community to meet a wide range of people.

Don’t write off working together with competitors to cross promote each other’s services respectively. If you get an enquiry and find out that the child in question would be better suited to a program at another daycare then you are doing the parents a favor by letting them know. And if the other daycare center is also referring children that they feel are more suited to what you have to offer then this arrangement is a win win for all involved.

Word of Mouth Marketing

If you serve your existing customers well they will refer friends to you. This kind of ‘word of mouth’ advertising is free and can be fully exploited by giving your clients every reason to talk about you to their friends. Providing a great service is one thing but there are many other ways to get customers talking about you. Make their interaction with your business so unique, interesting and memorable that they can’t wait to bring your center up in a conversation with their friends.

Refining a Sales Process

If your advertising and networking efforts are successful you should start to receive a good number of enquiries from families. At this point you need to have developed an effective sales process right through from making the appointment, the interview session, a tour, some soft selling and then closure of the deal.

Don’t Stop Marketing to your Customers

Keep marketing to your existing customers even after they have signed up with your service. There are always additional products and services that you can sell to maximize the revenue that you make off each client.

Many small centers spend too much time focusing on the day-to-day work of running their business and neglect their marketing. To make your child care business a success you need to ensure that you, as the owner, or another trusted staff member can devote a large part of their day towards marketing. This will ultimately help to determine how successful and profitable your business will be.
